There are three actors that can affect the course of the psychotherapy and these are the main elements which are client, therapist and rarely known client-therapist interaction or therapeutic relationship. Psychotherapy has a huge meaning for both side and an aim to see the positive effects. End of the therapy sessions, the client should achieve insight for his/her thought, emotions or behaviours.
When I think about the side of the client, there are related factors that occur in the main structure of therapy. First, the client should be a volunteer to be helped by the therapist. Beyond clients’ demographic characteristics, ready to be mentally motivated is more helpful to gain positive results and affects the relationship between the therapist and client.
Secondly, the therapist forms the therapy and takes control of therapy as a lead. That’s why he/she should have many characteristics both individual and theoretical. He/she does not forget that the aim to help the client and monitor his/her daily emotions, thoughts or relations which is related to the outside world.
Therapeutic relations are the most important actors in therapy. Because there are not only its own factors affect the therapy but also client, therapist actors and their subfactors shape the healthy way of psychotherapy. The therapist has a conscious and healthy mind and the client is willing to get help from the therapist. They should balance their relationship upon the required characteristics of the client and therapist.
In conclusion, these actors have their own dominant sides in running psychotherapies. I can not say that there is no connection between each other. Even some factors that we do not think they are related to psychotherapy can break down the well-structured process.
